Abbey was born February 3, 1984 in Davenport, the daughter of Richard & Carol (Newby) Jackson.  A 2002 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School, she met her best friend and soulmate, Brent M. Kopatich on the internet in 2011.  They were engaged on April 24, 2012 and married on December 8, 2012, celebrating five wonderful years of marriage.  Their Boston Terriers, Bella & Leo, were their children and loved as such. Abbey had been recently employed with Designer Shoe Warehouse in Davenport.

Abbey experienced frequent years of hospitalizations.  Patiently awaiting a kidney and liver donation, she endured two years of dialysis three times a week and kept charitability with her fellow patients, bringing snacks for her special friends.

A strong advocate of Donate Life America, Abbey was able to provide for the Iowa Lions Eye Bank after her passing. Her love and concern for others, her strength and her demeanor will not be forgotten.

In addition to her husband, Brent, and Bella & Leo, those left to honor her memory include her parents, Richard & Carol Jackson of Bettendorf, along with her brothers, Jason Jackson of Eldridge and Jim (Michelle) Jackson of Bettendorf; her nieces, Reese Jackson and Ashley (Josh) Woodham; her nephew, Tyler DeCook; her brother-in-law, Doug Anderson of Ottumwa; and her father and mother-in-law, Andrew & Mary Anne Kopatich of Bettendorf.

Abbey was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kenneth & Neva Jackson and Andrew Kopatich.

Abbey’s family wishes to thank her friends, dialysis technicians, doctors and anyone else who has either helped Abbey or have been an impact on her life. And a special thanks to Dr. Motto for the wonderful care he provided for Abbey.
