Adam R. Gardner, 38, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on March 29, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City.
A celebration of Adam’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 10th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9th at the funeral home. Those attending are encouraged to wear their favorite Marvel or Iowa Hawkeye apparel, and are encouraged to wear a mask and practice social distancing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
Adam was born December 25, 1982 in Davenport, the son of Bill Gardner and Kari (Ford) Gardner Allen. He graduated in 2000 from Davenport West High School. Adam worked for over 15 years at Walmart – West Kimberly, where he currently worked in the meat department. He was an Iowa Hawkeye and Dallas Cowboy fan, an avid gamer and a collector of comic books and all things Marvel. He enjoyed wrestling, both local professional wrestling and WWE. Adam was adored by his nieces and nephews who affectionately called him “Uncle A.”
Those left to honor his memory are his mother, Kari (Rick) Allen of Davenport; his father, Bill (Diana) Gardner of Davenport; siblings, Abby (Justin) Raines, Amy (Dean) Halsey, Billy (Holly) Gardner Jr., all of Davenport; step-sisters, Andrea (Aaron) Miller, Candace (Kyle) Guertsen, all of Davenport; 15 nieces and nephews, Nevin Goettsch, Orion Gardner, Keelyn Halsey, Peyton Bowden, Morgan Bowden, Adaline Raines, Jette Raines, Alexis Dunsworth, Korbin Guertsen, Kaleb Miller, Lucas Miller, Kyleigh Miller, Jaxson Miller, Ryan Schebler, Collin Schebler; paternal grandmother, Mary Gardner of Davenport; best friend, Garrett (Jessica) Schebler of Davenport; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his 4-legged buddy, Kinnick.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert & Martha Ford; paternal grandfather, Richard “Gene” Gardner; and uncles, Mike Ford and Mike Gardner.
