A. J. Abbott

A.J. Abbott, 37, a resident of Long Grove, Iowa died on Friday, May 7, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa following a brief illness.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge, Iowa. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
A. J. was born May 12, 1972 in Moline, Illinois, the son of Alvin & Jill (Osborn) Shepard and was a 1991 graduate of North Scott High School.
He was a devoted fan of AC/DC and recently fulfilled his dream of seeing them live in concert. A.J. enjoyed anything Ford, especially the Mustang, exploring the Internet and racing around the yard at his rural home on his Honda Go-Karts.
Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Jill of Long Grove; his aunt & uncle, Shirley & Bill Osborn of Palm Bay, Florida; his uncle, Jerry Shepard of Bettendorf, Iowa; his cousin, Carmen Goldsberry & her family of Long Grove; and his beloved canine companions, Buddy & Gizmo.
A.J. was preceded in death by his father.
