Alan C. "Skeeter" Skahill

Alan C. “Skeeter” Skahill, 77, a long time resident of Pleasant Valley, Iowa died peacefully at his home on Monday, July 21, 2008.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, Iowa. A luncheon is to follow at Mickey’s Valley Hall, Pleasant Valley at 1:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice.
Alan was born December 10, 1930 in Monticell, Iowa, the son of Charles and Margaret (Lehner) Skahill. He was united in marriage to Shirley Kincaid in September of 1950 in Davenport, Iowa. She preceded him in death.
Alan was a retiree of Alcoa and also a farmer. He loved dirt track racing, yard work, fishing and being with his family.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Linda (Ricardo) Eisenlauer of Bettendorf, Brenda Skahill of Pleasant Valley and Cindy (Andy) Grothe of Danville, Iowa; his sons Bruce (Rhonda) Skahill of Pleasant Valley, Mike Skahill of Pleasant Valley and Terry (Wendy) Skahill of Pleasant Valley; his thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; his sister, Kay Kramer of Davenport and his brother, Dick Skahill of Bettendorf.
In addition to his wife, Shirley, he was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Skahill.
