Alice L. Fulton, 89, formerly of Davenport, Iowa, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011 in Pleasant Valley, Iowa surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 5, 2011 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the services on Saturday at the funeral home. Private burial services will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or Genesis Dialysis.
Alice was born September 17, 1922 in Tama, Iowa, the daughter of Luther C. & Alice M. (Penry) Forsythe. She was united in marriage to Charles Edward Fulton on February 21, 1944 in Davenport. He was Alice’s soul mate throughout her life and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1988.
Alice was very much loved and will be missed by many. She enjoyed working various puzzles, reading and especially spending time with her family.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter and son-in-law, Vickie & John Gehrman of Rosemount, Minnesota; her granddaughters, Dawn & Nicole; her niece, Carol Groth of Bettendorf; her great-nieces and nephews, Bruce (Nancy) Groth of Pleasant Valley, Curtis Wheeler of Davenport; Genevieve and Amanda Tutor of Iowa, Alex and Ana Groth of Pleasant Valley, and Joshua and Gabi Morales of Pleasant Valley; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland & Elaine Forsythe of Fort Morgan, Colorado and Harry & Ann Forsythe of Augustine, Texas; her sister-in-law, Betty Forsythe of Columbia, Missouri; her dear friends, Steve and Mary Sweeter and Kathy Hill; and her loving Chihuahua, Jesus.
In addition to her husband, Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Vivian Martin, Margaret Carstens and Eunice Samuels; her brothers, Louis, Robert, Kenneth, and Lawrence.
The family would like to express a special thanks to the Genesis Dialysis staff and Dr. Walid Al-Sheikha for all their and comfort during this time.
