Allen W. Bradley, 77, of Eldridge, Iowa died Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Davenport Lutheran Home in Davenport, Iowa.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Chambers Funeral Home of Eldridge. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23rd from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eldridge Fire & Rescue, Medic EMS of Eldridge, North Scott Food Pantry or Hospice Compassus.
He was born to Willard and Amelia (Heneke) Bradley in Clarence, Iowa on June 14, 1938. Allen and Janice (Berg) were united in marriage at Immanuel Lutheran in Davenport on December 2, 1961.
Allen served his country in the Army then worked 22 ½ years at Caterpillar as a Machine Repairman. He was devoted to his yard, and, a self-taught jack-of-all-trades, he would fix anything. Passionate about working on cars, he was also a history buff and strong Democrat. He served as president of UAW Local 215 Retirees, president of Prima Villa Homeowners Association, and member of Eldridge American Legion 639.
Those left to honor his memory include, his wife Janice; children, Chris (Bobbie) Bradley of Anamosa, Iowa, Kelly (Todd) Heilig of Davenport, Iowa and Ricky (Lisa) Bradley of Ewa Beach, Hawaii; grandchildren, Josh, Alicia, Lauren, Aaron, Kyle, Renee, Ricky Jr., and Hailey; great-grandchildren, Regan, Aiden, Alexis and Austin; sister, Rosie Bergert of Davenport; brother, Melvin (Marlene) Bradley of Florida; brother-in-law, Harry Grings of Grandview, Iowa.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Dorothy Grings and Evelyn Taylor.
