Allen Dale Sindt, 83, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on Monday, December 8, 2014 after a tragic hunting accident in Centerville, Iowa.
His funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
Allen was born July 25, 1931 in Davenport, the son of Albert & Gladys (Olson) Sindt. He was united in marriage to Julia Mae Davis on September 1, 1956 in Davenport.
He retired from Altorfer in 1993 and co-owned Julie & Al’s Bar with his wife, Julia until retiring in 1999. Al was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
A much loved husband, father and grandfather, those left to honor his memory include his wife of fifty-eight years, Julia; his son, Bruce Sindt; his daughter, Connie Sindt; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several loving brothers and sisters.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Wayne and Dean Sindt; and his nephew, Stephen Sindt.
