Allyn L. Coffman, 63, a resident of Phoenix, Arizona and formerly of Davenport, Iowa died on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Phoenix.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Fairmount Cemetery in Davenport. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born October 27, 1943 in Davenport, the son of John & Rena Estelle (Stinger) Coffman. On August 20, 1966, he was united in marriage to Glorena Ann Krum in Davenport.
Allyn was employed as a warehouse manager at Abus Locks in Phoenix.
During the Viet Nam Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a Specialist 4th Class in 1967.
Allyn was an avid sports fan, enjoying the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Arizona Cardinals. He enjoyed playing golf, bowling and fishing. In earlier years, he coached girl’s softball with the Dad’s Club in Davenport.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Glorena; his daughters, Glorena Lynn (Raymundo) Coffman-Roqueni and Amanda Lee (Randy Hulschart) Coffman, all of Phoenix; his grandchildren, Teresa Coffman, Jacob-Li Vanhart and Dylan Roqueni; his sister, Marlynd Millage of Bettendorf; and his brothers, Marvin Coffman and Daryl Coffman, both of Florida, Gary Coffman of Davenport and Michael Coffman of Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Teresa Ann Coffman; his sisters, Norma, Myrna, Romilda, Catherine & Sandra; and his brothers, Virgil, Rondall, Lorryn & Raymond.
