Alta Z. Henry

Alta Z. Henry, 80, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 4, 2005 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bettendorf where she was a devoted member. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf and one hour before services at the church. Memorials may be made to the church or to the Lutheran Hour Ministries.
She was born September 5, 1925 in LeClaire, Iowa, the daughter of Franklin Lee & Anna Mae (Clark) Hann. On May 27, 1949, she was united in marriage to Walter Ervin Henry in Davenport, Iowa.
Alta was a devoted wife, mother & grandmother. She loved children and for many years, provided child-care in her home. She & Walter loved to travel and always looked forward to the visits with their children in other cities. During her liesure time, Alta enjoyed the challenge of crossword puzzles.
In addition to the church, she was a member of the Bettendorf Senior Citizens.
Those left to honor her memory include her beloved husband of nearly 56 years, Walter; her daughter, Anna Louise Myers of Phoenix, Arizona; her sons, Michael Allen Henry of Chicago, Illinois, Donald Ervin Henry of Anchorage, Alaska and David Lee Henry of Rochester, Minnesota; her grandchildren, Thomas Henry, Kevin Myers, Kelly Myers, Heidi Myers, Tiffany Henry & Amber Henry; a great-granchild expected very soon; and her sister, Thelma Young of Davenport.
Alta was preceded in death by her grandson, Jeremy Myers; her sister, Lucille; and her brothers, Melvin Hann, Lyle Hann, George Hann and Glenn Hann.
