Amy Lee Sims

Amy Lee Sims, 22, a resident of Davenport, Iowa and formerly of Overland Park, Kansas died on Sunday, July 3, 2005 after an ATV accident at Wildcat Den State Park in Muscatine, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 8, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for Amy’s daughter.
She was born March 22, 1983 in Davenport, the daughter of James A. & Faith E. (Mallette) Sims and was a 2001 graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park, Kansas.
Amy was a loving mother who had hopes of becoming a nurse. She loved to go swimming, enjoyed her computer and liked to go bowling as well. Talking on the phone and going shopping were also favorite activities.
Those left to honor her memory include her 23 month-old daughter, Kathryn Elise; her mom & dad, Faith & Greg McElderry of Overland Park; her father, James A. Sims of Moline, Illinois; her brothers, Jacob Allen Sims of Davenport and Sean Patrick McElderry of Overland Park; her grandparents, Wayne & Sheila Mallette of Davenport, Roy & Barb Sims of Moline and Jim & Kay McElderry of West Burlington, Iowa; her great-grandmother, Helen McElderry of Bloomfield, Iowa; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and a nephew, Mason Sims.
