Amy Sue Clemens, 35, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport following an extended illness.
Her funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, November 21, 2008 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf where a prayer service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to the family for a special contribution to the Handicapped Development Center in Amy’s name.
She was born April 17, 1973 in Davenport, the beloved daughter of Jerry & Sue (Bribriesco) Clemens. Amy was a special needs child and was mentored in the Davenport School System, graduating from Davenport North High School in 1994. She resided at the Handicapped Development Center for many years. The staff at the center became her extended family and the love & care she received there will always be gratefully remembered by her family.
Amy loved stuffed animals and enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune. She adored her family and dearly loved her extended family at the Handicapped Development Center.
Those left to honor her memory include her parents, Jerry & Sue Clemens of Bettendorf; her sister, Jennifer Clemens of San Antonio, Texas, her twin sister, Robin Clemens of Davenport and her sister & brother-in-law, Sarah & Eric Varcho of Bettendorf; her brother, Stan Clemens of Bettendorf; her grandmother, Lorene Clemens of Atchison, Kansas; her niece, Sofia Terrell; her nephews, Zachary Clemens, Devon Terrell & Carlos Terrell; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends. Her caregivers at the Handicapped Development Center are all thought of as family and they too are left with the sadness of losing someone they loved very much.
Those awaiting Amy in Heaven are her grandparents, John & Eloise Bribriesco and Oscar Clemens.
