Andrea Lee Aplin, 31, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 2, 2015 in Blue Grass, Iowa.
A memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 2015 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. The family invites those who attend to join them in a luncheon to be announced after the visitation. Contributions in Andrea’s memory may be made to the family to benefit her sons' educations.
Andrea was born December 20, 1983 in Cadillac, Michigan, a daughter of Al and Jan (Alderson) Aplin. Andrea started on the swim team at age five and continued on the team while attending Bettendorf High School. She had also set many records through the Bettendorf Swim Club. Andrea was also an A student receiving a large scholarship to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She had earned her Master’s degree in Education from Ashford University in Clinton, Iowa. A stay-at-home mom, Andrea lived for and loved her children dearly.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Jonah Aplin and Silas Anderson; her fiancé Matthew Anderson, all of Bettendorf; her mother, Jan (Rich) Porter of Blue Grass; her father, Al (Debra) Aplin of Crestview, Florida; her cousins, Brian Rzepczynski and Scott Hubacek of Naperville Illinois; her aunts and uncles, Pam and Tim Huber of Bettendorf, Hahna and Len Rzepczynski of Kalamazoo Michigan and Dawn Mendias of Anchorage, Alaska; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins from the south whom she loved very much; and many close and dear friends including Erin Clark.
