Angela Zamora

Angela D. Zamora, 95, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at her home.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Bettendorf where she was a member. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf where a prayer service will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or to Genesis Hospice.

She was born August 1, 1915 in Bridgeport, Texas, the daughter of Ephaifnio & Alciadia (Hernandez) DeLeon. In 1936, she was united in marriage to Victor Zamora in Texas. He preceded her in death on August 3, 1977.

Angela was a devoted wife, mother & grandma who was dearly loved by her entire family. She enjoyed crocheting, working in her garden, listening to music, playing cards with her family & friends and dancing.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Herlinda (Raol) Zamora-Gomez of Moline, Illinois, Margaret (Jose) Zamora-Ortega of Bettendorf and Sarah Zamora-Vasquez of Davenport; her sons, Victor (Catherine) Zamora of East Peoria, Illinois and Daniel (Rosie) Zamora of Aurora, Illinois; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and wonderful friends.

In addition to her husband, Angela was preceded in death by her daughter, Jovita; and by three sisters.
