Anita Elaine Helton-Bradshaw, 77, of Davenport, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Seventh Day Adventist Church in Davenport. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born September 21, 1934, in Tupelo, MS, Anita was the daughter of Arlin and Connie (Toll) Mancil. She married Jerry R. Helton in Arkansas; he preceded her in death. Anita later married Eddie Bradshaw; he preceded her in death.
Anita enjoyed fishing and bowling. She was an amazing cook.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Melodye Getz-Rice of Bloomsburg, PA; her son, Eddie “Denny” Helton of Columbus, MS; six grandchildren, Jerry Russel Helton III, Jessica D. Phelps, Chad Helton, Corey Helton, Jerica G. Getz, Jena D. Rice; nine great-grandchildren, Julia, Tyler and Dennis McMeekan; Teddy, Tanner and Jerry Helton; Emma J. Bower, Jordynn I. Rice and Denny Helton II; one brother, Charles Mancil of LeClaire; her beloved niece and caregiver, Billie Bolton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; four sons, Theodore L. Helton, Jerry R. Helton II, Russell Gregory Helton, and Gregory Russel Helton; one granddaughter, Jennifer L. McMeekan; two sisters, Joyce Schneckloth and Wanda Bolton; and one brother, Paul Mancil.
