Ann Marie McCutcheon, 76, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Saturday, January 19 th at The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, January 25 th at 4:00 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf with a Celebration of Life to follow in the Gymnasium from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the Ann Marie McCutcheon Memorial Fund to be used to donate a park bench to the Bettendorf Parks and Recreation Department. Arrangements are in care of McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa.
Ann Marie Sullivan was born July 19, 1936 in Sioux City, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph F. and Martha (Wade) Sullivan. She graduated from Southwest High School in Minneapolis, MN in 1955. She attended the University of Dubuque where she met the love of her life. She was united in marriage to Thomas L. McCutcheon on April 7, 1956 in Dubuque.
Ann was a magnificent swimmer and was in the Aqua Follies in Minneapolis in her early years. Later she taught swimming lessons to many children. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, and entertaining. She especially cherished the time she spent with her family and grandchildren. She was an avid fisherman and enjoyed her winters with her husband at their second home in Texas. She also enjoyed all the family and friends who would come down to visit them during the winter months. Ann was a stay at home mom for many years, busy raising six children. Later in life, she worked various part-time jobs. She volunteered at St. John Vianney church soup kitchen for many years and was a former member of the Bettendorf Boosters Club.
Those left to honor her memory include her devoted husband of fifty-six years, Tom; her sons, Conway (Tammy Worrell), Matt (Pam), Mark (Joyce), Luke (Deb Ogden), John (Jodie) and daughter Amy Stahle (Mike); her grandchildren, Mike McCutcheon, Katie (John) Andersen, Jennifer (Joseph) Mayberry, Jacob McCutcheon, Samantha McCutcheon, Mackenzie McCutcheon, Shannon McCutcheon, Tanner McCutcheon, Dan McCutcheon, Rachel Stahle, Amanda Stahle, Tom Stahle, Madison McCutcheon and Murphy McCutcheon; her great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jordan and Jillian Mayberry; her brothers and sister, Joseph (Monica) Sullivan, Denny (Laura) Sullivan, Jim (Sharon) Sullivan, sister-in-law, Sis (Mick) Sullivan and Jan (Jim) Stevens.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Steven Michael (Mick).
The McCutcheon’s would like to extend a special thank you to all of Ann’s family, friends and neighbors for all of their love and support during her illness.
