Anna M. Brasch, 96, longtime resident of Bettendorf, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2016 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 9, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Anna was born December 26, 1919 in Davenport, the daughter of Max & Emma (Hinrichsen) Kloppenburg. She was united in marriage to Arthur O. Brasch on April 22, 1939 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on December 30, 1974.
She was a longtime member of Newcomb Presbyterian Church in Davenport where she had been a Deacon and had taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of Bettendorf Senior Citizens. A devoted mother, she led girl scouts in earlier years and enjoyed flowers and gardening.
Those left to honor Anna’s memory include her daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Prenter of New Zealand, Barbara & Charles Pekios of Bettendorf, Maxine & Miller Hurst of Marine, Illinois and Judith & Len Bernhardt of Rapids City, Illinois; her son and daughter-in-law Richard & Gail Brasch of Bettendorf; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Anna was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Marie Bowker and Margaret Sidlinger; her brother, Charles Kloppenburg; and her son-in-law, Kerry Prenter.
