Anna Nelson

Anna G. Nelson, 88, of Colona, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Genesis Medical Center in Silvis, Illinois.

Private graveside services will be held at Rock Island National Cemetery.

Anna was born April 6, 1931 in Steilacoom, Washington, the daughter of Lancet H. & Mable L. (Thorn) Anders.  She was united in marriage to Howard E. Nelson on September 20, 1969 in Moline, Illinois.

Ann retired in 1991 from the Rock Island Arsenal as a General Supply Specialist Supervisor after 24 years.  She enjoyed fishing in Minnesota and shopping.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Howard; her daughter, Linda (Harry) Wright of Silvis; her son, Michael (Karen) Vandel of Coal Valley, Illinois; her grandchildren, Nick Wright, Jamie Vandel and Jennifer Vandel; her great-grandson, Marcus Delles; her sisters, Crystal Govas of Chicago and Mabel Clara Krambeck of Silvis; her brother, Lesley Anders of Olympia, Washington; and her sister-in-law, Karen Nelson of Colona.

Anna was preceded in death by her sisters, Kathleen Anders and Ruby Scalf; and her brothers, Harley, Cliff, Walter, Neal, Bob, Boyd and Freddy Anders.
