Annette Peart

d. December 5, 2016

Annette J. “Annie” Peart, 81, of Bettendorf, died on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Manor Care-Utica Ridge in Davenport.

There will be no visitation or service and memorials may be made to a charity or cause of their choice.

She was born on April 13, 1935 in Oakville, Iowa, the daughter of James & Ella (Davis) Mellinger.  Upon the death of her mother, she went to live with and was later adopted by Brooks & Maxine McCain.  She was a 1952 graduate of Davenport High School and was united in marriage to Robert C. McKee with whom she had two children.  She later married Charles K. Peart.

Annie worked at First Trust and Savings Bank, the Quad-Cities Telephone Answering Service and Physicians Exchange.  She was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, serving on the Altar Guild and Vestry.  She also was a Sunday school teacher.  Annie was a member of the Bix Beiderbecke Memorial Society and the Catfish Jazz Society for many years.  She enjoyed being a part of the St. Patrick’s Society of the Quad-Cities.  Her hobbies including reading and anyone that knew her, knew she was a diehard Cubs fan!

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Melissa McKee (Steve Tobin) of Eldridge, Iowa; her son, Bob (Joy) McKee of Louisville, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Brieanne Ryckert of Niceville, Florida, Shannon Mandsager (Matt Jewel) of Bettendorf, Kyle (Adrienne) McKee of Dallas, Texas and Rachel (Jon) Green of Leitchfield, Kentucky; her great-grandchildren, Caiden, Vaughan, Gemma, Fiona and Margot Ryckert, Lincoln Mandsager and Logan and Katherine Green; a sister-in-law, Grace Mellinger; a brother, Bob (Bonnie) Davis; and her nieces, Susan (Bill) Rider and Amy Halverson.

Annie was preceded in death by her brothers, Vaughan, Neil and Jimmie Mellinger; her sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn & John Seibel; her nephew, David Halverson; and her son-in-law, Brian Grother.

Annie’s family would like to thank everyone on the 4th Floor at Genesis East, Manor Care-Utica Ridge and Genesis Hospice for everything and all of their help, and to Kathy and Dennis with the Scott County Library bookmobile for always keeping her reading.
