Annig was born March 26, 1920 in Armenia during the time of the Armenian Genocide. Those difficult times gave her honesty, courage, a strong faith and an appreciation for hard work--values that she later taught to others. Annig was a beautiful person with a generous spirit. She was devoted to her grandchildren, in whom she took great pride. She was united in marriage to Ben Bedeian in 1946 in Cuba. He preceded her in death in 1954. She was later married to Levon Elgatian on September 19, 1955 in Galesburg, Illinois. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1991.
Annig was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Katherine Bedeian, Oakland, California and Pauline (Randy) Ahmann, Davenport; her sons, Leo (Annetta) Elgatian, Muscatine, Iowa, Paul (Cindy) Elgatian, Davenport, Dick Elgatian, Davenport, John Elgatian, Bettendorf and Vahan (Vicki) Bedeian, Bluegrass, Iowa; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and her sisters, Rose Sahagian, North Bergen, New Jersey, Virginia Froonjian, Belmar, New Jersey and Isabel Keshguerian, West New York, New Jersey.
In addition to her husbands she was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary; her parents; her sister Araxi Riezo and her brothers, Kaspar and Ardases.
