He was a Chaplain of both the Davenport and Bettendorf Salvation Army, a drug rehabilitation counselor, a teacher, a mentor and performed administrative duties. Many referred to him as “Taskforce Tony”. He influenced and changed the lives of many young men through his belief and by the power of God.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, drawing, playing games and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Bettendorf Bulldogs, but his greatest enjoyment was being a servant to the Lord.

Those left to honor his memory include his mother, Isabel Zambrano, Davenport; his daughter, Erin Zambrano, Davenport; his son, Todd Zambrano, Davenport; his grandchildren, Zaitha Burroughs, Sara Zambrano, Amaya Zambrano and Serena Zambrano; his sisters, Mary (Dr. Robert) Goodwin, Belden, Mississippi and Elsie (Sonny) McDonnell, Davenport; his brothers, Tom (Marilyn) Zambrano, Milan, Illinois and John Zambrano, Port Orange, Florida and many other family members including his extended family at the Salvation Army ARC.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life and mother of his children, Bonnie Abbott, his father, Isador and his brother, Raymond.

“Don’t believe this obituary, I just started to live.” Tony Zambrano
