Arlo Cline

Arlo W. Cline, 90, of Bettendorf, died Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility in Bettendorf.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Tuesday. Memorials may be made to the Iowa Masonic Health Facility.

Born on September 10, 1922 in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of Arlo W. H. and Blanche (McWilliams) Cline.  On February 15, 1942 in Burlington, he married Ruth Winifred Cline.

In his early years, Arlo was a buyer in dry goods.  He owned and operated A.C. Lock Service in Bettendorf for 22 years, retiring in 1998. Arlo was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Bettendorf, Associated Locksmiths of America and was a charter member of the Iowa Locksmiths Association, Masonic Hamilton Lodge #664 of Bettendorf and High Twelve Club # 47 of Davenport.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 70 years, Winifred; daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Steve Mayhew of Bettendorf and Pamela and Louis Vaccaro of Chandler, AZ; grandchildren, Samantha Mayhew of Bettendorf, Kristin (Josh) Snowbarger of Davenport, Nicholas (Leslie) Vaccaro of Irving, TX and Kelli Vaccaro of Chandler, AZ; great-granddaughter, Grace Vaccaro of Irving, TX; brothers, Dr. Robert Cline of Sheboygan, WI and James Cline of Mason City; sister, Constance Smith of Rochester, MN.

Arlo was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Merril.
