Arthur Honeycutt

Arthur R. Honeycutt, 82, of Davenport, died Monday, April 29, 2013 at Trinity Bettendorf.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial with full military honors will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 2nd at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
Arthur was born on June 24, 1930 in Springfield, Arkansas. He married Bertha Lucas on February 27, 1952 in Davenport. They later divorced but remained best friends.
Arthur served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954. He worked for the Annie Wittenmyer Complex, Aladdin’s Castle and retired from Oscar Meyer after 30 years of service. In years past, Arthur enjoyed working on cars and fishing. He was a foster parent for many years. Arthur cherished his time spent with his grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his sons, Albert (Diane) Honeycutt of Philadelphia, MO, Alan Honeycutt of Davenport and Terry (Lisa) Honeycutt in Bettendorf; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; special friend, Bertha; one son, Arthur E. Honeycutt; four brothers, Hubert, Tom, Jay and Houston; and two sisters, Ruby and Lorraine.
