Barbara Lynn Brebner, 69, of Bettendorf, passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. An open house celebration of life will take place Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, at Sunrise Golf course, Bettendorf, located at 3947 Moencks Rd, Bettendorf. In accordance with Barbara’s wishes, cremation will take place. 

 

Barbara L. Rothert was born on December 10, 1953, in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Marvin and Viola (Roggendorf) Brebner. She married Steven Forrest Brebner on September 3, 1972, in Bettendorf. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2018. She graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1972. She worked at Buesing Automotive for 20 years and then as a legal secretary for a Quad City law office, Davenport, retiring in 2020.

 

Barbara enjoyed her dogs, spending time with her family and grandchildren. She loved traveling frequently to see family and vacation in various states.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” (Derek) Keibler of Columbus, Ohio; son, Andy (Ashley) Brebner of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Alex McNicol, Scarlett Keibler, Jackson Keibler, sister, Karen (Tim) Bashaw of Bettendorf; brothers-in-law, Dennis Van Zandt of Bettendorf, Tom Grell of Davenport and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Sandy Van Zandt and Katie Grell.

 

Memorials may be directed to the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
