Barbara Erwin

Barbara J. Erwin, 67, of Davenport, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa after a courageous 3 ½ year battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Barbara was born October 23, 1943 in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of Cubert & Doris (Shaw) Wales.  On March 28, 1964, she was united in marriage to Edward H. Erwin in Silvis, Illinois.

Barbara had been retired for many years from K-Mart in Davenport.  In earlier years, she was a playground supervisor at Monroe Elementary in Davenport where her children had attended school.   She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Rock Island and was formerly a longtime member of Westside Assembly of God in Davenport.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she loved spending time with her family and loved the Lord with all her heart.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Edward; her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie & Joe Mulvehill of Bettendorf; her sons and daughters-in-law, Mike & Dawn Erwin of Davenport and Mark & Sarah Erwin of Davenport; eleven grandchildren; and her special extended family, Liz Erwin-Hancock, Daren Hancock, Jennifer Rempt and the Cole family.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Steve.
