Barbara Fischer

Barbara L. Fischer, 57, of Bettendorf, passed on to God Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport.

Per her request, there will be no services or burial. A memorial is being set up and e-mailed condolences will be responded to with more information.

Barbara was born April 25, 1954 in Clinton, Iowa, the daughter of Robert & Erma (Schneider) Townsley.  She was united in marriage to Richard A. Fischer on December 18, 1998 in Davenport.

Barbara was president of Fischer Consulting, LLC and she was also the owner of Bizzysplace.com and Art-2-Wear.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from St. Ambrose University in Davenport and her Graduate Degree in Statistics from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Richard; her sons & daughters-in-law, Eric & Jill Wood of Clinton, Andrew & Stephanie Wood of Clinton; and Matthew & Michelle Fischer of Davenport; her daughter and son-in-law, Lori & Jim Mower of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; her grandchildren, Justin Mower, Katie Wood, Cameron Fischer, Kyle Fischer, Abby Wood and Isaac Wood; and her sister, Constance Arnell of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Barbara’s strength and determination built a loving family where all were equal to her in love and giving.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Jennifer.

Barbara’s family and friends will honor her memory at their home by planting the flowers that she loved and that brightened her summer days.  Barbara is now a memory to us, just like the many memories she created for her family. To Barbara each day was a chance to make a special memory for those around her.  She will be missed by all.
