Barbara J. Fisher

Barbara J. Fisher, 73, a resident of Davenport, Iowa passed away at her home on Sunday, December 18, 2005.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 23, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
She was born July 11, 1932 in Lomax, Illinois, the daughter of Charles & Amble (Dowell) Pence. On March 21, 1959, she was united in marriage to Robert J. Fisher Sr. in Lomax. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1992.
Barbara enjoyed butterflies, watching NASCAR racing, the Statler Brothers and watching cooking shows on week-ends. She loved to drink Pepsi and especially enjoyed the times spent with her beloved six month-old great-grandson, Alexander.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Debbie Dolquist of Davenport; her son, Randall Fisher of Davenport & his girlfriend, Karen; her step-daughter, Peggy Oertel & her husband, Bobby of Davenport; her step-son, Bobby Fisher Jr. & his wife, Cindy of Buffalo, Iowa; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; ten step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Norma McSparren and Doris Hawley & her husband, Richard, all of Lomax; her brother, Milford Pence & his wife, Bea of Lomax; and her special friends, Penny Fisher, Lee Gosa, Sharon Luppen and Karen Akers.
In addition to her husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Harry; and by her parents.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Genesis Hospice nurses, Dottie & Terrie, Genesis Chaplains, Rev, Peter Dahlstrom and Rev. Elliot George and Genesis Social Worker, Stacey Hetzler for their loving care shown during Barbara's illness. Her grandson, Jonathan was an important part of her care as well.
