Barbara R. Cramond, 77, a resident of Davenport entered into eternal rest with her lord, on Tuesday, April 08, 2008 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, Davenport, and her earthly work was done, a good and faithful servant.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 11, 2008 at Asbury United Methodist Church, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church.
Barbara was born September 14, 1930 in Rochester, New York, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth (McCauley) Jones. She was united in marriage to John D. Cramond on September 20, 1952 in Kenmore, New York.
Barbara worked as a school teacher and also in the administrative field for various firms. Her husband’s career took them all over the country and Barbara attended many colleges along the way. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Fashion Merchandising at the age of 62.
Barbara was an active member of the United Methodist Women, a member of Beta Sigma Phi and also volunteered at various hospitals. While some physical problems reduced her activities in later years she still continued to enjoy music, art, cooking, crosswords, travel and the activities of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, John; her daughter, Ellen (Paul) Weser of Mesa, Arizona; her son, John “Skip” (Keri) Cramond of Bettendorf; her grandchildren, Erick Klamer, Elizabeth Weser, Matthew Weser, Lindsay Sobie, Stephen Cramond and Anne Cramond; her sister, Sally (Tom) DeFazio of Watertown, Massachusetts and her sister-in-law Audrey Jones of Buffalo, New York.
She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Clarence “Bud” Jones.
