Beatrice Bauch Sindt, 100, a resident of the Iowa Masonic Village, Bettendorf, Iowa and formerly of Davenport, Iowa died on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at the Iowa Masonic Health Facility, Bettendorf.
There will be no services or visitation Contributions in her memory may be made to the Beacon of Hope Hospice. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
She was born December 10, 1905 in Clinton County, Iowa to Juanita Anderson Bauch and Carl Paul Bauch. She moved with her family to Maquoketa, Iowa at the age of two. She graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1923 and from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1927. Beatrice took graduate courses at Columbia University in New York, before returning to Maquoketa where she taught Latin and other subjects at the Maquoketa High School for three years. She married Howard Theodore Sindt of Davenport, Iowa in 1930.
Beatrice & Howard had four children; Robert Warren Sindt, born 1933; Carol Ellen Sindt, born 1937; Ann Marcia Sindt, born 1940; and Conrad Jeffrey Sindt, born 1947.
Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, Howard who died in 1986 and by her son, Robert who died in 1992.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Ellen (Charles) Simonian of Ohio and Ann Marcia (Thomas) Goebel of North Carolina; by her son, Conrad (Margaret Meyer) Sindt of Michigan; by her daughter-in-law, Mary Lee (Phillips) Sindt of Allens Grove Township, Iowa; and by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Beatrice was active in many organizations in Davenport, including the Putnam Museum and the Lend-A-Hand Club, as well as having long-time affiliations with the Octave Thanet Book Club in Davenport and the P.E.O. Club which she joined in 1929.
