Benjamin Kowing

September 16, 1942 — November 17, 2016

Benjamin E. Kowing, 74, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa and formerly of Meadowlakes, Texas died on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.

The family will host an open house in Ben’s honor at their home from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Monday, November 21, 2016.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Helping Center of Marble Falls, Texas.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born in Lawrence, Kansas on September 16, 1942, the son of Benjamin and Emma (Howe) Kowing and was a graduate of the University of Kansas.  On September 4, 1965, he was united in marriage to Carol Jane Fielding in Winfield, Kansas.

Benjamin was employed as a network engineer, developing and designing computer networks for small business.

He was a Texas Master Naturalist and a Texas Master Gardener.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Carol; his son, Benjamin (Jennifer) Kowing; his grandchildren, Sam and Sarah Kowing; his sister-in-law, Barbara Robertson of Marble Falls, Texas; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Fielding of Johnson City, Texas and David Fielding of Dallas, Texas.

His parents preceded him in death.
