Bernard Werthmann

Bernard A. "Bernie" Werthmann, 89, of Davenport, passed away Friday, November 10, 2017 at his home.
Private funeral and burial services will be held and memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church in Davenport, where he was a member. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.
Bernie was born June 30, 1928 in Davenport, the son of Sebastian & Mabel (Hoese) Werthmann. He had nine siblings; Leon (Yvonne) Werthmann, Joan (Art) Hostens, Elayne (Larry) Lyons, Mary Crews, Roger (Marilyn) Werthmann, Jerome (Betty) Werthmann, Barbara (Julius) McCormick, Geraldine (Jerry) Kreusch & Madonna (Don) Nelson.
He was united in marriage to Jeanette E. Bankson on March 31, 1950 with whom he had seven children; twenty-two grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
He was later united in marriage to Noreen J. Granbois on December 14, 1974, adding five step-sons, nineteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild to the family.
Bernie was preceded in death by his wife, Noreen on March 7, 2015 and by his parents.
