Bernard "Butch" Mason

Bernard E. “Butch” Mason, 84, of Bettendorf passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no visitation or services at this time.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Butch was born on September 9, 1938 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the son of William and Beulah (Finnley) Mason.  On October 22, 1965, he was united in marriage to Corrine Van De Putte in Bettendorf.  Together they owned and operated Able Window Cleaning and Janitorial Service for 17 years.  Butch then worked in construction and was a member of Local Laborer’s Union #309 in Illinois and later for Local Laborer’s Union #563 in Minnesota.  Butch was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and boating.  He was known for being a jack of all trades and could fix just about anything.

His wife, Corrine Mason of Bettendorf, is left to honor his memory.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Mason; and two brothers, William and Rick Mason.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for their exceptional care and compassion to Butch during his brief illness.
