Bert Moore

Bert H. Moore, 61, of Bettendorf, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at his home.

His funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Military honors conducted by the Buffalo Bill American Legion Post 347 of LeClaire, Iowa will follow the services at the funeral home.  Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. and continue after the funeral services until 7:00 p.m.  Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Bert was born July 5, 1955 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Bert H. & Barbara (Shipley) Moore.  He was raised in LeClaire and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Bert was united in marriage to Sally L. Leiby on March 26, 1977 in Bettendorf.  Bert was retired from the Quad-City Garage Policy Group as a mechanic.  He had previously been a police officer at the Rock Island Arsenal.

Bert was an avid motorcyclist, having traveled all over the country.  He enjoyed playing guitar and songwriting and was a gun enthusiast.

Those left to honor Bert’s memory include his wife, Sally; his daughter, Nicole Moore of Bettendorf; his son, Richard (Cheri) Moore of Merriam, Kansas; his grandchildren, Dakota, Alise, Abigail and Alexandria; his mother, Barb Moore of LeClaire; his sisters, Bonnie (Bob) McCrady, Colleen (Dan) Orman and Penny (Bill) Liebbe and his brother, Terry Tague, all of LeClaire; his sisters-in-law, Michele Kable and Kathy (Allen) Holloway, of Bettendorf; his brothers-in-law, Jack (Jody) Leiby of Rock Island, Illinois, Ron Leiby of LeClaire and Tim (Jenny) Leiby of Bettendorf; and many nieces and nephews.

Bert was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Roger Tague; and his twin sister, Belinda Maxon.
