Bertha M. Bunce

Bertha Marie Bunce, 93, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at Manor Care Nursing Center in Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 1, 2004 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Illinois. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to the American Cancer Society.
She was born November 9, 1910 in Briarbluff, Illinois, the daughter of Frank & Alvena (Reimers) Sullivan. She was united in marriage to John P. Nelson in 1945 in Moline, Illinois. He preceded her in death in 1950. She was united in marriage to Neal E. Bunce on December 29, 1951 in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 1980.
Bertha was a long-time avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and enjoyed playing bingo as well.
Those left to honor her memory include her grandson, Neal Steven Bunce & his wife, Ruthann of Urbandale, Iowa; her great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Veronica, Marie & Allison; her great-great-grandchildren, Kaine, Gracie, Mia & Lily; her nephew, Kenneth Brown & his wife, Sheila of Davenport; many other nieces & nephews; and her close & special friend, Sally Grchan of Moline, Illinois.
In addition to her husbands, Bertha was preceded in death by her sisters, Henrietta Brown, Lilas Lundell & Florence Kellums; and her brothers, Henry, Sam & Kenneth
