Betty E. Purdy

Betty E. Purdy, 55, of Davenport, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 23, 2007 at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until the time of the services on Friday. Following the services, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to Kevin Purdy & family.
Betty was born January 19, 1952 in Moran, Kansas, the daughter of LeRoy D. & Ernestine B. (Wolford) Johnson. On June 6, 1997, she was united in marriage to Kevin A. Purdy in Davenport.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge #106 in Davenport. She enjoyed carpentry, home remodeling, fishing, camping, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Betty had always thought of friends and friends of the family as part of her own family.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Kevin; her daughters, Shannon M. Riley, and her husband, Brett, of Davenport, Lacey A. Farrell, of Davenport, and Angie J. Purdy, and her husband, Ernie, of Edgington, Illinois; her sons, David R. Johnson, and his wife, Jammie, of Long Grove, Iowa, and Eric L. See, of Davenport; 14 grandchildren; her sister, Patricia Ornelas, and her husband, Ernesto, of Hawaii; and her brothers, Roger Johnson, and his wife, Debbie, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Tony Johnson, and his wife, Kay, of Davenport, and Paul Johnson, of Strawberry Point, Iowa.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Annette.
