Betty G. Cave, 82, of Bettendorf, passed away on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Friday, March 19, 2010 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice or to the family.
Betty was born April 18, 1927 in Randolph, Nebraska, the daughter of Harry & Mildred (Lofgren) Montgomery. She was united in marriage to John Giese and later to Julian Lee Cave. He preceded her in death in 2003.
A devoted homemaker, Betty enjoyed traveling with her family and working with children at her home and at First Baptist Church in Bettendorf where she had been a member for many years.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Glenna (John) Goldermann of Bettendorf; three step-daughters, one being Anne Minor with whom she shared some good times in Arizona; her sons, John E. (Cindy) Giese of Sigourney, Iowa, Tony Lee (Rita) Giese of Oskaloosa, Iowa and James Alan Cave of Princeton, Iowa; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sister, Frieda Brown of Nebraska; her brother, George Gartner of Nebraska; and her special friend and caregiver, Kathy Gleason.
In addition to her husband, Julian, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her daughters, Frieda Ann Smith & Debra Lou Giese; and her granddaughter, Penny Sue Wannepain.
