Betty J. Hunt, 79, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Sunday, February 26, 2006 at her home after an extended illness.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, March 2, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf where she was a member. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home where a prayer service will be offered at 4:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or to Genesis Hospice.
She was born in Galesburg, Illinois on January 13, 1927, the daughter of Walter & Gladys (Deane) Shane. On June 12, 1945, she was united in marriage to Vincent L. Hunt in Galesburg.
In earlier years, Betty operated the Tinkerbell Pre-School in her home and had also been employed in the Physical Therapy Department of the former Davenport Osteopathic Hospital.
She loved to play bridge and was especially fond of the times spent with her beloved family & many friends.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Vincent; her daughter Donna M. (Steve) Hunt-Dusse of Woodside, California; her sons, Gary L. (Cheryl Packer) Hunt of Bettendorf, Wayne F. (Judy Welsh) Hunt of Palm Desert, California, Bruce A. (Amy) Hunt of Coal Valley, Iowa and Dean V. (Lisa) Hunt of Ben Lomand, California; ten grandchildren; her sisters, Evelyn (John) Bahl of Montgomery, Illinois and Mary Ann (David) Severns of Galesburg; and her brother, Lester (Idel) Shane of Galesburg.
Betty was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Natalie Hunt in 1986; and by her brother, Howard.
