Beverly Petersen

Beverly June Petersen, 86, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa died on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Grand Haven Retirement Community of Eldridge.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church of Eldridge.  She will be laid to rest at York Baptist Cemetery, Thomson, Illinois.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Chambers Funeral Home of Eldridge.  Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church or to Genesis VNA.

She was born in Dixon, Illinois on July 13, 1926, the daughter of William Harvey and Mary (Weber) Marshall.  On June 22, 1946, she was united in marriage to Kenneth D. Petersen in Clinton, Iowa.  He preceded her in death on June 24, 2002.

Beverly was a graduate of the former Jane Lamb School of Nursing in Clinton, Iowa and worked as a registered nurse in several physicians’ offices.  She also worked as a school nurse for a number of years.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Beverly enjoyed sewing and quilting.  She and her husband enjoyed traveling for many years and her family will always remember her wonderful cooking.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Deborah (Kendal) Crawford of Cedar Falls, Iowa; her sons, Terry (Janet) Petersen of Bogota, New Jersey and Jeffrey (Julie) Petersen of Park View, Iowa; her grandchildren, Emily (Scott) Schaub, Adam (Jamie) Petersen, Christopher Petersen, Madisen Petersen, Dr. Jessica Crawford and Kathryn Crawford; her step-grandchildren, Kale Crawford, Jim Doell and Charles Doell; her great-grandchildren, Arthur Schaub and Ethan Schaub; and her step-great-grandchildren, Cory Crawford and Jacob Crawford.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William Marshall and David Marshall.
