Blanche Eleanor Riley, 93, of Urbana, Illinois formerly of Davenport, Iowa passed away April 4, 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, April 8, 2011 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service Friday. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Wycliffe Bible Translators.
Blanche was born March 31, 1918 in Elwood, Nebraska the daughter of Robert Burns and Bertha Elizabeth (Reed) Murray. She married William Gill Riley on November 9, 1942 in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death July 25, 1959.
Blanche is survived by one son, Joel (Sherri Sydel) Riley, Davenport, Iowa; three daughters, Judith (John) McCarty, Marshalltown, Iowa, Rebekah (Ron) Barr, Farmer City, Illinois and Rachel (Harry) Halliday, Fithian, Illinois; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Jim Murray, Galva, Illinois; three sisters, Cleora Fitzpatrick, Birmingham, Michigan, Catherine (Arnold) Miller, Wichita, Kansas and Margaret Collett, Davenport, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, William, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Sarah Lee.
Blanche was a devoted mother and confidante.
