Obituary: Bob Tudeen

Bob Tudeen, 74, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2007 at his home.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, May 24, 2007 at the Bettendorf Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bettendorf Presbyterian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
He was born to Ben & Elsa (Newman) Tudeen on January 17, 1933 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1961.
He married Virginia “Ginny” Pollock on December 27, 1956 at Jordan’s Grove Baptist Church in Central City, Iowa. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past year.
Bob received both Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees from the University of Iowa. He was in education for 34 years, the last 29 years as a high school guidance counselor at Bettendorf High School. He retired in 1994.
His memberships included the Bettendorf Presbyterian Church, Friendship Force, D.A.R.S.P.A. and the National Education Association.
His family was the joy of his life and especially loved spending time with his 15 grandchildren. In addition, he enjoyed travel and supporting the Bettendorf Bulldogs.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Ginny; three daughters, Sheryl (Ben) Irvin of Collierville, Tennessee, Kris (Scott) McKissick of Bettendorf and Kim (Jeff) Lindaman of Bettendorf; two sons, Mike (Marcella) Tudeen of Nashville, Tennessee and Alan (Kelly) Tudeen of Tampa, Florida; and his 15 beloved grandchildren, Taylor, Ben & Letty Irvin; Zach & Connor Tudeen; Logan, Maddie, Carson & Alan Tudeen; Lauren, Bobby & Noah McKissick; and Emily, John & Katie Lindaman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Clarence.
Bob will be remembered as a loving husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His quiet strength of character, sense of humor, and positive attitude touched the lives of those he knew and loved. He will be greatly missed.
