Bobbi Jo Young, 47, of Davenport, died suddenly on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 21, 2012 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to her family.
Bobbi Jo was born on October 6, 1965 in Iowa City, the daughter of Edward William and Janis (Sybert) Poggenpohl. On June 20, 1987 in Davenport, she married Ken Young.
Bobbi Jo worked as a supervisor for RR Donnelley Printing Company. She was a charter member of the Jaycees in McCausland. Bobbi Jo enjoyed playing Bingo, vegetable gardening, making salsa, riding her bicycle, going for walks and dancing. She was an avid Quad City Mallards fan and loved spending time with her family.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ken Young; son, Kyle Young and daughter, Whitney Young, both of Davenport; her father, Edward (Yvonne) Poggenpohl of Iowa City; ten sisters, Jeanne Stoddard, Georgia Cullison, Linda Haessler, Pam Morton, Robin Watkinson, Tressa Mann, Anna Haessler, Danna Hartz, Donna Poggenpohl and Reba Suiter; four brothers, Bill, Alan, Craig and Butch Poggenpohl; she was a beloved aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janis; her mother and father-in-law, Clifford and Darlene Young and a niece, Chelsea Poggenpohl
