Bobbie Lee Cornett, 68, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa, died Friday, October 28, 2005 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday evening at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire. Memorials may be made to the family.
Bobbie was born April 25, 1937 in Centerville, Iowa, the son of Clarence & Dorothy (Shaw) Cornett. He was united in marriage to Beverly Mae Wages on August 10, 1958 in Exline, Iowa. She preceded him in death on May 12, 2001.
Bobbie was retired from the former International Harvester Farmall Works after 27 years of employment. He had also been employed for 9 years at the Collis Company in Clinton, Iowa.
He enjoyed guns, hunting, motorcycles, and traveling throughout Alaska.
Those left to honor his memory include his sons, Mike Cornett, of LeClaire, Gary Cornett, of Bettendorf, Rodney Cornett, of Postville, Iowa, and Robert (Allan) Cornett, of Davenport; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Betty Dawson, of Mystic, Iowa, Marge Barber, of Centerville, and Judy Yezerski, of Davenport; and his brother, Rick Cornett, of Davenport.
In addition to his wife, Beverly, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence and Jerry; and by his grandson, Michael.
