Bonnie Geerts

Bonnie Sue Geerts, 48, of Davenport, died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 18, 2011 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.

Bonnie was born December 16, 1962 in Davenport, the daughter of Arthur & Shirley (Smith) Barwick. She was united in marriage to Douglas A. Geerts on August 6, 1988 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2008.

Bonnie will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She devoted her time to taking care of those around her.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Brandi (Josh) Kain of Rock Island, Illinois, Shelby Geerts of Davenport; her son, Adam Geerts of Davenport; her grandchildren, Laura Leigh and Joseph Kain; her mother, Shirley Barwick of Davenport; her sister, Laurie Barwick of Davenport and her twin-sister, Connie (Daniel) Hines of Moline, Illinois; and her brothers, Roger Barwick and William Barwick, both of Davenport.

In addition to her husband, Doug, Bonnie was preceded in death by her father.
