Bonnie J. Gorsh, 82, a resident of Wheatland, Iowa, formerly of Long Grove, Iowa, died on Saturday, July 4, 2020 in Davenport, Iowa with her family by her side.
She was born October 16, 1937 in Lancaster, Iowa, the daughter of Holland and Grace (Wallerich) Gilliland. On October 20, 1956, she married Donald L. Gorsh in Kahoka, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 30, 2001.
Bonnie retired from the Rock Island Arsenal in 1988.
In the North Scott area, she was a leader in 4-H. She and her husband started the Mississippi Valley Softball League, building a softball/baseball field on the farm and coached. Bonnie volunteered for over 20 years at the Carroll Assistance Center and was a Boy Scout leader. She enjoyed helping others, being with family, friends, traveling and cooking.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Victor (Michele) Gorsh of Long Grove, Char (William) Lingle of Davenport, Ricky (Tami) Gorsh of Blue Grass, Charlene Burns (Brian Schlussel) of Wheatland; step-daughter, Joyce (Delbert) King of Marengo; her brother, David Gilliland and her sister, Joyce Hahn, both of Sigourney, Iowa; 15 grandchildren;12 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Cindy; brother, Donnie Gilliland; 4 step-children; and 2 step-grandchildren.
