Bonnie Jean Johnson

Funeral services for Bonnie Jean Johnson, 79, of Bettendorf, will be 12:00 pm on Monday, September 18, 2023, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Monday from 11:00 am to service time at the funeral home.

Bonnie passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport.

Bonnie J. Griebel was born on July 7, 1944, in Davenport, the daughter of Orville and Clarice (Laschanzky) Griebel. She graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1962.  She married Carroll Lynn Johnson on March 20, 1965, in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 2004. In her early years she worked at Happy Joe’s on both 50^th St. and 53^rd St. as a cashier. She served as a volunteer and was a life-time member of V.F.W. Auxiliary #9128. She enjoyed Karaoke at the V.F.W.  on Friday nights.

Survivors include her sons, Brian Johnson of Bettendorf, Kenneth (Cindy) Johnson of Davenport, grandchildren, Kyle, Kristina, Austin, five great-grandchildren, and sisters, Sandy (Griebel) Warner of Dixon, IA, and Dawn (Griebel) Fetters of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carroll, brothers, Orville “Butch” Griebel and David Griebel.
