Bonnie Spainhower

September 16, 1952 — February 11, 2022

Bonnie M. Spainhower, 69, of Eldridge, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus in Davenport, Iowa.

There will be no services or visitation and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.  Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bonnie was born September 16, 1952 in Davenport, the daughter of Thomas & Alice (Keppy) Moore.  She was a graduate of St. Ambrose University in Davenport where she held degrees in speech and music.  On July 28, 1973, Bonnie was united to Martin L. Spainhower in Davenport.

Bonnie had been an avid bowler, having been Past-Director of the Davenport Women’s Bowling Association.  She also enjoyed playing bingo.

Bonnie loved the musical theater; she was proud of being cast during her sophomore year as the female lead in St. Ambrose’s production of “Anything Goes.”  A true actress (having been proudly paid), she was cast in Circa 21’s production of “Sister Act” and “The Music Man” where she performed alongside her sons.

She was an avid supporter of the North Scott School District’s Drama and Music Boosters and enjoyed being a part of the “Drama Mamas.”  Bonnie had chaperoned for the Miss Iowa Pageant in earlier years and lovingly doted on her four cats.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Martin; her sons, Adam Spainhower of Eldridge and Nathan Spainhower of Chicago, Illinois; her brothers, Keith Moore of Davenport and Ivan Moore of Eldridge; her sister-in-law, Mary Moore of Eldridge; her brother-in-law, Larry Arp of New Liberty, Iowa; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ted & Sharon Spainhower of Preston, Iowa, Craig & Michelle Spainhower of Florida and Conrad Spainhower of California; and several nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Burdell Arp; her brother, Dale Moore; and her sisters-in-law, Lorraine Moore and Deanna Moore.
