Brenda Braddock

November 23, 1960 — August 24, 2017

Brenda Ellen Braddock, 56, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died due to complications from diabetes on Thursday, August 24, 2017.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 28, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 27th from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Miracle Network or New Kingdom Trailriders.

Brenda was born November 23, 1960 in Davenport, the daughter of Alan and Shirley (Kincaid) Skahill. She graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1979 and then went on to graduate from Hamilton Technical College in Davenport. Brenda married Paul Braddock on September 23, 2016 at Sunrise Golf Course in Bettendorf.

Brenda previously worked as a medical assistant at the Center for Digestive Health in Davenport and more recently at the University of Iowa Outreach Clinics in Bettendorf. She loved caring for her patients. Brenda had a lifelong passion for horses and loved her garden.  Brenda cherished her time spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Paul Braddock; son, Adam (Maria) Sampson; daughters, Anne (Joe) Camarena and Brittney (Kyle) Lonergan; stepdaughter, Morgan (Pat) Cullen; stepson, Nolan Braddock; grandchildren, Joseph, Taylor, Brenna, Rhylee, Kate, Kennedi, Blake and Tyler; brothers, Bruce (Rhonda) Skahill, Mike (Jennifer) Skahill and Terry (Wendy) Skahill; sisters, Linda (Ricardo) Eisenlauer and Cindy (Andy) Grothe; close friends, Sandy DePover and Brenda Randolf; and many nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Lane Lonergan; and her parents, Alan and Shirley Skahill. We know she is providing all of the love and snuggles we wish we could provide here on Earth.
