Brian Edward Haessler, 50, a resident of LeClaire, Iowa died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Trinity Rock Island in Rock Island, Illinois.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born in Davenport, Iowa on October 4, 1962, the son of Edward Otto and Carol Ann (Smithe) Haessler. In 1982, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Paul. Upon his honorable discharge in 1987, he was awarded the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and the Navy Unit Commendation.
Brian was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, the Chicago Bears and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Tiffany LeAnn Haessler of Davenport; his son, Brian E. Haessler Jr.; his mother, Carol Ann Timbrook; his father & step-mother, Ed & Barbara Haessler of LeClaire; his grandmother, Lillian Smithe of Davenport; his sisters, Pamela (George) Taylor of Rock Island and Leann (Mark) Noack of Bettendorf; his brother, Michael Haessler of LeClaire; his step-sister, Kimberly Chapman of LeClaire; his step-brother, Todd Chapman of LeClaire; the mother of his children, Kathy Crotts of Davenport; his beloved dog, “Hawkeye”; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Fred & Catherine Haessler.
