Brian R. Woolverton, 45, of Bettendorf, formerly of Lisle, Illinois, died Saturday, July 9, 2005 in Moline. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in East Moline, Illinois. Per his request, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the family.
Brian was born August 2, 1959 in Hinsdale, Illinois, the son of Bernard Ray & Marjorie Ruth (Stark) Woolverton. He was employed with Am-Vets in the Chicago area before moving to Bettendorf to be near his sister. He had been previously employed as a post office carrier in Glendale Heights, Illinois.
Brian enjoyed mountain biking, kayaking, traveling, and nature in general. He also enjoyed the Chicago Cubs, playing jazz and blues music in various coffeehouses, and playing Santa Claus at Christmas. He will be remembered as an environmentalist, his love of family, and his thirst for knowledge.
Those left to honor his memory include his sister, L. Christine McDannell, of Bettendorf; his brother, Dennis Woolverton, and his wife, Alison, of Westfield, Wisconsin; three nieces; two great-nieces; and a great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Lynne Ann (Woolverton) Cleveland; and his niece Bonnie Ruth Clark.
