Brittany Stringer

Brittany Malloy Stringer, 28, of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Bettendorf, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2016.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the Dubuque Regional Humane Society or St. John Vianney Catholic Church for the erection of an environmental cross. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf is assisting the family with arrangements.

Brittany was born December 5, 1987 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of Dennis and Mary Stringer.

Brittany graduated from Bettendorf High School in 2006.  She was also a 2010 graduate of the University of Dubuque with a degree in Environmental Science.

Brittany was a strong and energetic worker having found a sense of pride in a job well done.  She worked in many jobs through high school and college.  She also worked with the Americorps Program in Dubuque, IA, St. Paul, MN, Spirit Lake, IA, and Cedar Falls, IA.  At the time of her death Brittany was loving her job as a Claims Examiner at Sedgwick Claims Management Service. in Dubuque.

In high school Brittany was most involved in Band, Orchestra and Drama.  She also loved playing the piano.  As a senior, she received the Outstanding Senior Student in Vocational Education Award for 2006.

In college her focus turned to the environment.  She was an adventurer in seeking out all that she could of nature’s beauty.  As a Deans List student, she shined in her studies.

Brittany’s interests also included capturing breath-taking photography of nature, collecting soul sayings, trout fishing, baking and making tie dyes.

Brittany is survived by her parents, Dennis and Mary Stringer of Bettendorf; her brother, Colin (Allison) Stringer of Dubuque; uncles, Jim Bacino, Paul (Jan) Bacino and Ron (Julie) Stringer. She is also survived by her special cat friends, Mr. Butters and Miss Madison and a special friend, Jeremy.

Brittany was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Patti Bacino, Roy and Doris Stringer, Dulcie Stringer, and her uncle Carl Bacino, Jr.
