Bruce G. Dexter

Bruce G. Dexter, 86, of Princeton, Iowa passed away Monday, March 17, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon on Tuesday, March 25th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Princeton. Memorials may be directed to Scott County 4-H or to the Princeton Volunteer Fire Department.

Bruce was born on October 4, 1938 in Davenport, the son of Glenn and Catherine (Bolster) Dexter. On June 14, 1958, he was united in marriage to Emmy Lou Peters. Together they farmed in the Princeton area for many years. He enjoyed fishing and in his earlier years, bowling. Bruce was a long-time employee at Rock Island Auction and a former member of the Scott County Cattlemen’s Association.

Those left to honor his memory are his sons, Tony Dexter of Princeton, John (Denise) Dexter of Princeton, and Steve (Jamie) Dexter of Eldridge; five grandchildren, Beau (Katie) Dexter, Ashley (Jenna) Dexter, Cody Dexter, Sophia Dexter, and Emma Dexter; five great-grandchildren, Nora, Dani, Charley, Bella, and Scottie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Craig (Sheryl) Dexter of Lost Nation, Iowa, Lee (Shellah) Dexter of Lowden, Iowa, and Eileen Dexter of Eldridge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emmy; and brothers, Andrew Dexter and Dale (Marla) Dexter.
